The Origin of May the 4th, Star Wars Day
May the Fourth...Force Be with you on this Star Wars day. It turns out that while the day has only been celebrated by Star Wars fans recently (mostly due to Disney seeing the promotional value of it), its origin goes all the way back to 1979 with Margaret Thatcher using the pun to celebrate her first day as Prime Minister on the same date.
