Disney+ has released a second trailer for Star Wars: Maul - Shadow Lord animated series. The 10 episode series premieres on April 6 with two episodes and then two new ones each week until the finale on May the 4th. It is set after the Clone Wars as Maul attempts to rebuild his criminal empire and takes on a young Jedi Padawan. Long time voice for Darth Maul, Sam Witwer, returns to voice the character for the series.

Super Bowl The Mandalorian & Grogu TV Spot
The Super Bowl was held Sunday and part of that included a few movie trailers. Far less than there use to be. One them was an unusual TV spot with voice over from Sam Elliot for The Mandalorian & Grogu movie that will hit theaters on May 22nd.

Star Wars: Maul - Shadow Lord Teaser Trailer
Disney+ has released their teaser trailer for Star Wars: Maul - Shadow Lord animated series that will hit the streaming service with two episodes starting April 6. The tag line for the series is "Chains can be broken. Empires can be shattered” as Maul returns post Clone Wars with Sam Witwer continuing to voice the character. The series is set some point after Star Wars: The Revenge of the Sith with 10 episodes total for the season.

Lucasfilm Officially Has New Leadership
Filoni will also keep his role as Chief Creative Officer. Filoni began working on Star Wars after directing 8 episodes of Avatar: The Last Airbender. He began work at Lucasfilm in 2005 and from there helped create the animation side of the company with Star Wars: The Clone Wars, Rebels and more. He then helped launch live action Star Wars TV with The Mandalorian and Ahsoka and now moving into the movie side where he wrote and directed Star Wars: The Mandalorian and Grogu which hits theaters on May 22, 2026.
Lynwen Brennan was vice-president of Lucasfilm, starting in ILM in 1999, rising through the ranks over the years to General Manager of Lucasfilm in 2015 which is more or less an executive vice president role. Her role in the new company is to handle all the business side work that it takes to manage a company so Filoni is free to work on the creative side.
