Star Wars: Rogue One Scores A New Composer
In a sign that the Star Wars: Rogue One shoots were probably more dramatic then Disney has let known, the movie has replaced the movie's composer with Michael Giacchino. The composer was supposed to be Alexander Desplat who tends to score more dramatic films like The Imitation Game, Zero Dark Thirty, Suffragette and more. Basically his hiring suggested a tense, dark movie. Giacchino is the opposite of that who often light fun fair like many Pixar movies and adventure stories like the Star Trek films, Tomorrowland, Jurassic World and more. In short it indicates that the re-shoots were extensive enough that the film likely experienced and entire tonal shift in presentation that instead of being something different will be exactly like all other Star Wars films. Not really a negative but more of a sign that Disney is going to play it very safe with Star Wars and take no chances on any bumps in the billion dollar road.
